Holiday Magic

"Hush, hush" says the Moon.

If you have a toddler tiddle toddling about, you probably know the Moon and Me. It's a lovely series about the toys in a dollhouse that magically come to life whenever the moon shines.

As the holiday season approaches I am reminded of the magic that children see, feel & experience. It's not just about Santa. It's the anticipation of splendor, the pure joy in knowing that something wonderful is going to happen.

This is a new personalized book at My Great Keepsake where we pride ourselves on custom gifts that are sure to bring joy and become keepsakes in years to come.

As a young girl I received a dollhouse for Christmas. The holidays were always magical at our house. We were not rich but we had everything we needed and most of what we wanted, if you know what I mean. My Dad liked to build things. That year, he made a dollhouse for my sister and I to share. Literally. She had one side of the house and I had the other. Very clever, I'd think years later. Together or apart the house was a some of the best fun we had for a long time. As time passed the occupants and stories changed, but the palette was the same, the house that was built with love.

When Moon Baby comes to meet Pepi Nana, they sing the I Love You song. "I love you, more than a sunny day, more than the milky way..." Listen to the song and the worries of the world will pass and you'll be left with that snuggly feeling we all need just a little more of these days.

This has been a long and stressful year. It's not over though. Let's take a page from the Moon and Me and bask in light light that is around us. Let it bring us joy that we pass to others. Until we meet again I wish you many Moon Baby kisses as you tiddle toddle through the holidays.

As always, we're here at My Great Keepsake for all your gift giving needs. All personalized books must be ordered by December 7th. Happy Holidays!

'Tis the season!

It's that time of year. You know. Gift giving season. I won't go on about the "reason for the season" because I'll assume that you, like me, know the reason for the season. Everyone has their own tradition based on whatever ideology they embrace. When I was a child my Mother always went a little overboard at Christmas. Most holidays really, but especially Christmas. She was one of eight children. I was one of four. She made Christmas magical. . I don't mean to give her all the credit. Dad was there too but in our little world our Mom was the cruise director. We all had special outfits, stockings and personalized gifts. Generally speaking, we went to my Aunt & Uncle's house on Christmas Eve. When I say 'house' I mean three story walk up on a small side street in South Boston. My Grandmother lived on the first floor, my Aunt and her family on the second floor. There were many things we could count on at the family Christmas party. We always
